- Read the passage to understand the details and know some information about the country life.
- Know how to express "wishes" using "could"
b. Skills
Drill and improve all skills.
c. Behavior
Enjoy studying English.
2. Preparation
a. Teacher: Text book; Teaching plan; pictures (p22); ex – board (a)
Organizing form: I – W; P – W and G - W
b. Students: Text book; notebook; school things; do homework; prepare well for new lesson (activities in the village).
3. Procedure
*Organization
T: Greet and check the attendance.
Sts: Reply

a. Check the old lesson (2’)
T: Check Sts` preparation for the lesson.
Sts: Get ready.
*Warm up (6’)
Chatting
? Have you ever been to the countryside?
? How often do you go there?
? Where is it?
? Have you ever taken part in activities in the countryside? What have you done?
Sts: Answer the questions.
T: Lead in the lesson to know more about the life and activities in the countryside. Let us begin the lesson.
b. New lesson
* Presentation (10’)
T: Ask Sts to look at the pictures, read the example, and then practice describing what people are doing in each picture.
Sts: Work individually to do the task.
T: Call on some Sts to say in front of the class, give feedback and correct mistakes if necessary.
* Possible answers:
1. A girl is watering the vegetables.
2. Some boys are swimming in the river.
3. A woman is feeding the chickens.
4. Some farmers are harvesting.
5. A man is feeding the pig.
6. A man is plowing with his buffalo.
7. A boy on his buffalo is flying his kite.
8. Some boys are playing soccer.
(T: Pre-teach vocabulary:
- home village (n): quê nhà (explanation)
- cross /krɔs/ (v): Ngang qua (example) Ex: They cross a small bamboo.
- banyan tree /`bæniən/ (n): Cây đa (picture)
- snack /snæk/ (n): Món ăn nhẹ (example) Ex: Bim Bim is a snack.
- walk up (v): Đi bộ lên (núi) (translation)
- shrine rain/ (n): Miếu thờ, điện thờ, am (picture)
- go boating /`boutiη/ (v): Đi bơi thuyền (mime)
Sts: Read and copy down the words in the notebook.
T: Introduce the passage, have Sts think of the answer for the question before reading:
? What did Liz think after the trip?
Sts: Answer the questions (their own ideas).
T: Give feedback then ask Sts to listen to the passage to check their answer and elicit new grammar:
(- Liz was very happy and she wished she could visit the village again.
- "I wish I could visit your village again some day."
